ISU CALARASI, IN COOPERATION WITH BULGARIAN PARTNERS, PARTICIPATED IN AN EXERCISE WITH FORCES AND MEANS IN THE FIELD

Firefighters from ISU Calarasi, in cooperation with Bulgarian partners, participated in an extensive tactical exercise provided for in the cross-border project RO-BG 415.

Between 13.10-14.10.2022, the calaras military firefighters participated in cooperation with the Bulgarian partners in an exercise with forces and means in the field in the Podul 4 area of Calarasi.

The exercise is part of the RO – BG – 415 Project "Joint risk management and partnership in the Calarasi – Dobrich cross – border area" within the Interreg VA Romania-Bulgaria cross-border cooperation program 2014-2020, where calaraseni firefighters are partners.

In this project were purchased, by the members of the project implementation team, off-road cars and computing equipment worth 281,979 euros.

According to the scenario of the exercise “as a result of the fall of significant amounts of precipitation in the central part of Europe, in the last 30 days there were recorded constant increases in the level of the Danube River/Borcea arm, so that on October 14, 2022, it reached the danger level on the territory of Calarasi County, leading to the flooding of the enclosure where is located an important tourist complex near Calarasi municipality, Hotel and restaurant Bridge 4, as well as the possible appearance of a crack of the dam for the protection of the agricultural enclosure Calarasi-Gradistea. Complementary to the general situation, during the management of the emergency situations generated by the rising water level, a boat with 2 fishermen was stuck in the immediate vicinity of the hotel and restaurant Pod 4, being unable to get out to shore due to the increased water level, on the other bank, the right bank on the water flow direction, a dry vegetation fire broke out near a forest, and on the SNUAU 112 system, who are lost in the Calarasi-River enclosure (enclosure name that delimits the agricultural area between Borcea arm and Bala arm).”
